New Zealand's Pine Forest Industry

Plantation Forestry is New Zealands third largest export earner. 
New Zealands annual wood harvest is currently 21 million m3 and
is expected to reach 40 million m3 over the next two decades.

NZ has a total of 1.8million hectares (4.5 million acres) of planted
production exotic forests. New Zealand retains 6.2 million hectares
 (15.3 milllion acres) of Native Forest, largely protected in National 
Parks.
